Member Spotlight: Nerdbomber

Where Nerdy is Cool!
I know you are thinking, "What the heck is a Nerdbomber?" Well, think no more! Here is the definition from the UrbanDictionary.com:

One that has excelled to the point of specialization at being a dork. Not necessarily an insult, it can be a term of affection.

Karen Wood, a self proclaimed nerd, is a graduate student of Literature and started Nerdbomber with her sister as a creative outlet for her silly side in 2005. Nerdbomber was a featured Etsy seller in January 2006.

Not only was my inner geek drawn to the name of her shop, but also the items she carries and the items descriptions:

"Nothing spells HAPPY NERD like a little sunshine with an embroidered pin."

Or, how about the Winston Churchill button with this description:
Lady Astor: "If I were married to you, I'd put poison in your coffee."

Churchill: "If I were married to you, I'd drink it."

Wish you were still in school so you could carry your books around with this cute star sash? Yep, you're officially a nerd too!

Karen and her Nerdbomber shop items will be at the Urban Street Bazaar in the Bishops Arts District on May 10th. There will be plenty of local talent, so stop on by if you get a chance and show some love to Etsy and non-Etsy crafters/designers/artists! "Be there or Be Square!", says my inner geek!

Promo Card Packs

This season expect a little extra in your packages...that is, if you order superfab handmade items from the following Etsy Dallas members (listed in the order that their items appear in the graphic below) :

B.Liscious - bags, baby onesies, photography
Atom-In - jewelry, housewares, bags
Rustique Art - wire and beaded crosses
Pamela Michelle - art necklaces, graphic paintings & prints
Tefi Designs - jewelry, fabric and felt crafts
TP Design - paper crafts, artwork
Desigining Diva - glass art jewelry
Alicia Colina-Ashby - bags, purses, accessories

Why these particular Etsy Dallas members? These are the trailblazin' participants of Etsy Dallas' first-ever promo card swap!

Here's how it works: Each participant sent in 200 business cards/coupons. We then assembled nifty little card packs with one of each member's card, sealed the baggie, and added a cute little Etsy Dallas label. These completed packs were then sent back to the participants for them to hand out to you - supporter of local artists and crafters!

To show Etsy Dallas even more love and support, each of these EDers paid a fee to participate. These funds will be used for future marketing needs of the group. Wow!

So show some love for these fine artists and crafters. Our creativity thrives on your support!

(Extra special thanks and props go to Mandi/scribbles who helped us assemble these packs!)
