Trunk Show Date/Time Finalized!

We had a fun and successful first meeting yesterday at Carrie's and James' great loft at Southside. What a view! The big news is that we've nailed down a date and time for our holiday trunk show (drumroll, please):

Saturday, December 8th, 11am-3pm

We are still working out the exact site at Southside, but most likely we are looking to set up shop and open our trunks smack dab in front of the main doors and lobby. More details to come...

If you are a member (see side panel) but have not signed up for the Google group, please do so now! This is the best way to stay in touch with all the great Etsy Dallas happenings.

Simple Ways to Promote Etsy Dallas

ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS: Please join our Google Group ASAP (see sidebar >>) so that you can get in on all the messages and happenings, like the one below:

Hey you guys! Our list of members has grown, which is fanstastic. I'd like us to take some time over the next week or so (me included) to do the following, pretty please:

* Mark all members' shops (see list on blog) as Favorites.

* Put a mention about Etsy Dallas in your Shop Announcement and/or Profile.

* If you get a chance to make a Treasury, could you do one for Etsy Dallas members? That would be a great way to get our name and shops out in the public eye. (Please let the group know if you b/cm one of the lucky few to make a Treasury.)

* I saw that Shaybot mentioned ED in her personal blog. That's awesome! Please follow suit with blogs, newsletters, etc. if you haven't already.

These are all free and simple ways to publicize Etsy Dallas and get the word out. I look forward to meeting you all October 28.

New Logo

Thank you thank you thank you to Pamela Michelle for designing our logo and doing it so quickly! Check it, but mind the oohs and ahhs:

To top this off, Pamela's also doing a banner for our Etsy profile so we will not only be official, we'll look official! Whoop whoop.

Banana Showcase joins the Etsy Dallas Street Team

Hi everyone! My name is Kelly and I am the owner of Banana Showcase. I design and make purses and accessories. I have been selling on Etsy for a year now and I have enjoyed it. I make a few sales off Etsy also.

Right now I am concentrating on filling up my shop a little more and I am working on marketing my shop outside of Etsy. I have found marketing to be my weak spot. If anyone has any tips on marketing for me, I'm all ears!

I look forward to getting to know more crafters and Etsians in my area! :)

Hello all!

Wanted to introduce myself a little. First off, I'm excited and thrilled to join etsy Dallas. I can't wait to get acquainted with the rest of the members in this group. I'm a Californian girl at heart, but moved back to the Lone Star state two years ago. Does this make me an honorary Texan? =D

Currently, I'm a graphic designer by day but moonlight as a jewelry designer by night. If you need some help feel free to ask me! I'd have to say that my experimentation and passion for jewelry began in high school. It wasn't until a few years ago when I became serious about selling my work. (It's so hard to part with something you've created!)

I love working with sterling silver and semiprecious stones. Elegant, whimsical, and delicate would probably best describe my designs.

Looking forward to many conversations!

Pamela Michelle Says: Hello Etsy Dallas!

Hello Etsy Dallas!

It's great to be here. I'm so excited to be a part of Etsy Dallas. Woo Hoo! I've been living in the Dallas area my whole life. The people, the art, the environment! Love it!

I've always been dabbling in painting and drawing, and just recently I decided to put my work out there. Thus joining Etsy and participating in craft shows. I'm having tons of fun!! Right now I'm working on paintings, and making art necklaces out of prints of my paintings and etched wood.

Hope I get a chance to meet everyone of you at craft events and gatherings! Till then, have fun crafting Dallas!

Hi New Here!

Hi I just discoverd EtsyDallas and am so excited. I have lived in Dallas pretty much my whole life. I love Dallas and I love making jewelry. This would seem to be the perfect place to be.

It would be so cool if I could meet some Etsy Dallas ladies. I am looking forward to this new venture.

I recently broke my hand and am healing nicely and am VERY ANXIOUS to getting back to work.

I am part of the Etsy Texas group...but I am having a hard time keeping up with some of the events they do ...i.e. going to New York, etc.

Well, Hello and come say hi.

I am getting ready to go heart everyone!

p.s. I love to call my shop "Purple Toes Jewerly" after my daughter who loves to paint her toes purple. ;-)

Knit Sisters Join Etsy Dallas

Hi there and hola! We are the Knit Sisters: Constanza from Dallas and Yoli from Bogota, Colombia. (Okay, so Yoli is a bit out of the geographic region for Etsy Dallas, but Constanza will represent!)

We both knit scarves and only recently opened a shop on Etsy at the behest of our daughter and niece, Stephanie of Tefi Designs. (She also makes some stitch markers that we sell in our new Etsy shop.) We are thrilled to be a part of Etsy Dallas!

Etsy Dallas Is Official!

I just posted the following message in Etsy's forum. Hooray!

We just received our official status from Etsy last night and couldn't be more thrilled! Membership is open to anyone who meets these basic standards:

1) You must have an Etsy shop that is current and stocked. It's okay if you haven't made any sales or are new to Etsy.
2) You must guarantee that all of your products are handmade by you or are supplies for crafters/artists (beads, yarn, paint, etc.)
3) You must live in the Greater Dallas metroplex area.

We are still working on a logo and banner, so bear with us! Contact Tefi ( if you're interested in joining. Please include a link to your Etsy shop.

We have our first meeting scheduled for October 28 @ 3pm to discuss a trunk show we'll be doing on December 8. Yay!!
